Agentic AI product & service design.

Reimagining services around people and AI working together, and proving their value early, with working products in weeks rather than plans in months.

How fast can you find out whether an AI product works?

Specifying AI products is the easy half. Building them is the proof.

At EY I design agentic services for clients; in independent explorations I use AI coding agents to take products from sketch to release. Design, build, test with real people: the fastest way I know to find out what works.

Problem, approach, outcome.

Problem

Specs that age before they ship.

AI products are specified on slides, built months later, and tested far too late.

Approach

Design and build in one loop.

  • Agent design: roles, tools, guardrails
  • Prototypes built with AI coding agents
  • Tests on real data, with real users
Outcome

Working software, sooner.

Ideas proven or dropped in weeks, with a product that already runs and a clear design for the agent’s job, limits and hand-overs.

  • Agentic service blueprints — what the agent does, and what people do
  • Guardrail & evaluation design — know when to trust it
  • Coded prototypes & MVPs — test the real thing, not a slide
  • Design-to-code hand-over — nothing lost in translation

Built to find out.

Live service · Sailing Races

Every offshore race in Greece, in one calendar

Challenge
The national offshore programme lives in PDFs and notice boards that sailors check by hand.
What we did
A pipeline that reads the federation programme twice a day and adds courses, wind forecasts, crew-declaration status and reminders, in Greek and English.
Result
A free public calendar that updates itself.

Learning · The Sailing School

A sailing simulator in nine lessons

Challenge
Sail trim, reefing and apparent wind are hard to learn from books.
What we did
A 3D simulator in the browser, built around a real yacht, with theory chapters and mini-games.
Result
A free bilingual course that runs on any tablet or desktop.

Tools · Wind Router and more

Sailing instruments and desktop utilities

Challenge
Real boats and real developers need small, dependable tools.
What we did
Weather routing from ORC polars and live forecasts; wind, anchor and heel instruments; two open-source desktop apps.
Result
Each taken from idea to release by one designer working with AI agents.

Independent explorations, made with AI coding agents outside EY client work. They show the method; client work is delivered through EY Studio+.

Explorations, shipped.

Questions, answered.

Why build a prototype instead of a specification?

Agents behave differently on real data than on slides. A working prototype shows within days where the agent helps, where it fails, and what the people around it need.

What is agentic AI product design?

Designing products and services where AI agents do part of the work: what the agent is for, which tools it may use, when it hands over to a person, and how its results are checked.

Are the sailing apps EY projects?

No. They are independent explorations that show the method. Client work is delivered through EY Studio+.
